This is the letter for students:

Schedule for the day:
7:30-8:30am  Exhibitor set up,Odeum, Campus Center
8:00-9:00am  Safety check
9:00am-2.00pm  Judging
11:30am-1:30pm  Lunch
2:00-4:45pm  Open to the public
5:00pm   Awards Ceremony, Alden Hall

We are pleased that you have been chosen to exhibit your science project at the Worcester Regional Science and Engineering Fair.  We appreciate the time and effort you have spent working on your project.  This letter and the should help you prepare for entry into the Regional Fair.

The Fair is located in the Odeum in the Campus Center at WPI.  Report to the registration desk when you arrive.  You will receive an exhibit number and a name badge.

Your project should adhere to the size requirements as specified in the Rules and Regulations.  Electrical outlets are limited so request electricity only if your project depends on it.  Bring your own extension cords, power strips, tape, and any other supplies you may need.

Since this is a competition as well as an exhibit, students are expected to remain at the Fair from set-up time until the awards ceremony concludes.  Wear comfortable clothing that is both neat and appropriate for a person who is presenting work to several judges.  Come prepared to spend time waiting for judges to interview you.  A good book will help you to use this time wisely, as well as help to calm your nerves.

Naturally, there will be time for you to meet your fellow exhibitors.  This means social contact, new friends, and new ideas.  This is a good way to learn what other people have accomplished.  It will also provide you with an opportunity to explain your project in a more relaxed way, which will help you in your presentation to the judges.

Lunch is provided at no cost to you.  However, it is always wise to have some "pocket money" for the unexpected.  You will not be allowed to leave the WPI campus during the day.  The phone number for emergencies only is (508) 843-0333.  Activities are planned after the judging and an Awards Ceremony with a guest speaker will conclude the day's activities.

You are special people and this is a special event.  Make the Most of It!

Deadline for receipt of COMPLETED REGISTRATION FORMS is MARCH 5, 2010.
